Kingston Releases Super-Fast Class 10 microSD Cards
Via Technology Guide, Kingston has upped the ante on its super-fast Class 10 line of microSD cards, releasing a new card that features not only 10 MB/s data transfer rates, but can also store up to 32 GB of data.
Kingston already offers 4 GB, 8 GB, and 16 GB cards in its Class 10 lineup, but the new release of the 32 GB version means that power users with high storage capacity needs will have an option better suited to their desires.
Details
The highlight of the Class 10 lineup of microSDHC cards is their guaranteed 10 MB/s minimum data transfer rate. They are compatible with devices that support microSDHC cards, and through the help of an optional adapter can easily be used as a full-sized SDHC card.
Buyers beware that microSDHC and SDHC cards will not work with devices that support standard microSD cards. A majority of new devices use microSDHC, but there are still SD devices out there.
Kingston’s Class 10 microSDHC cards weigh one ounce, can operate in temperatures ranging from -25°C to 85°C (-13°F to 185°F) and be stored anywhere from -40°C to 85°C (-40°F to 185°F), making them the perfect SD card for technophiles in the Arctic tundra. All of the cards also come with a lifetime warranty from Kingston.
Price and Peripherals
Fast transfer speeds and huge storage capacity are not cheap, and the Kingston 32 GB Class 10 microSDHC card costs $153. The 16 GB model is $95, the 8 GB $34, and the 4 GB $21.
All sizes of Class 10 microSDHC card can be purchased with either an SD adapter or an SD adapter and USB card reader.
