Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY With Android O.S. 2.3 Gingerbread The Review
\Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY is "PlayStation certified" phone first. Based on the Android OS 2.3, this device has a 1 GHz processor Snapdragon 2, 5 megapixel camera plus front facing camera, and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless networking. It was launched today by Verizon Wireless for $ 200 with a new two-year service contract.

Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY is a hefty device, roughly the same size as other modern smartphone, but much thicker and heavier. It was expected, because PLAY Xperia is a slider, with full control of the game lies in the bottom of the screen. If you are a fan of Sony, everything here should look very familiar, with the d-pad on the left and the traditional square / triangle / circle / X and start / select buttons. There is also a left and right trigger at the right side of the device, which is the peak when you are holding it in landscape mode with the game controls exposed.

The screen is running 4.0-inch multi-resolution capacitive touchscreen at 854 x 480 pixels. Color is clear and sharp, and everything I see so far looks very good. There is no physical keyboard, so you'll use a virtual keyboard on the screen for all of your text input.

Performance

PLAY button Xperia is based on the Android platform 2.3 (Gingerbread) and has a 1 GHz processor Snapdragon 2. It comes with 8 GB microSD memory card expansion that has been installed, although 2 GB of space used by the games that come preinstalled with the device: Asphalt 6, Bruce Lee, Crash Bandicoot, Madden NFL 11, Battalion Star, and The Sims 3.

In my limited time with Xperia PLAY I can say he has done admirable, with excellent speed and responsiveness. Playing games just like I remember them, and the external speaker sound quality is really very good, with very good volume as well.

The main 5-megapixel camera, with autofocus and LED flash. There is also a second camera in front of the device. 1500mAh battery, rated up to 460 minutes talk time and up to 405 hours standby.

 Conclusions
Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play ImagesSo far Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAYING live up to the idea that both mobile and full-featured portable gaming systems. Whether or not to do both at once so well is what I will remember for a period of review, because all-in-one device is a great idea, but they often suffer from several shortcomings that make them less than ideal.
