Google in a joint report has recently been suggested to want to settle a patent lawsuit related Oracle Java used in Android OS. After repeatedly tried to dodge, Google has finally requested the case be narrowed so that this claim could be negotiated in an informal resolution or agreement. Not yet known whether Oracle will accept this idea.
Oracle reported this before asking for compensation at least 2.6 billion dollars. This figure will probably make Google the difficulty in performing the initial bid. Currently own Google is waiting for the two studies re-claims Oracle's Java before determining next steps.
Google itself is difficult to defend on this claim. Have found some code that seemed copied directly from Java code and is used in the implementation of Android by some assemblers. Even in some cases found no trademark Sun listed in the Android source code.
Parties Google and its Android handset assemblers are also being sued by many parties including Apple and Microsoft. They and Oracle are also hoping to attract royalties from patents that are likely violated in addition to raising prices Android Android handset and simultaneously discourage people to buy it.
